Workshops are led by professional teacher and chef instructor, Chef Amee Hoge-Dunfee. All workshops can be held

at my cooking cottage in Avon Lake (10-12 girls max), your meeting location, or at one of your leaders’ homes.

COSTS: $15-18/girl (depending on workshop & location) + the cost of ingredients if hosted by the troop. If you would like Chef Amee to host, then there will be a $7/girl ingredients and supplies fee added. Contact me via phone or email to set up your workshop.

 

All workshops are designed for DAISIES, BROWNIES, JUNIORS, and CADETTES. Some workshop's menus may need to

be adjusted with certain age groups and time restraints. Chef Amee has created curriculum for 10 fun badge

workshops that fulfill the GS requirements for- Healthy Snacks, Simple Meals, New Cuisines and Locavore.

 

 **Cost of fun patch is not included, they may be ordered ($3.50 each) upon request.

Whimsical Cupcake Decorating: Spring/Fall/Summer or Holiday: Girls will learn fun classic cake decorating techniques using professional tips and fondant while creating seasonal themed cupcakes while making homemade buttercream frosting.  Focus is on making frosting, filling and using pastry bags and tips, and using fondant.

 

Cookie Diva: Girls will learn the history of cookies, how to make a variety of creatively simple, take-home cookies along with valuable baking terms and techniques. Recipes to include a variety of 3 creative and delicious cookies.

 

Holiday Baking: Learn various hands-on cookie recipes to create special treats for the holidays, baking terms/vocabulary and taste cookies from around the world. Recipes can include: Chocolate Mint Cookies, Chewy Ginger Cookies, and Vanilla Spritz Cookies.

Chocolate Lovers: It’s all about chocolate here- how it’s made, distinguishing quality, and cooking with it in various ways. Recipes can include: Chocolate Berry Rol-ups, Mint Truffles and Double Chocolate Brownies.

Taste of Italy: Girls will experience Italy through recipes & skills developed from Chef Amee’s travel through Tuscany along with learning about ingredients used in Italian Cuisine. Recipes can include: Homemade Pasta Dough made fettuccini, and Tuscan Marinara or Alfredo Sauce from Scratch.

​

Doughnut Lovers: Girls learn skills & baking terms while learning how to make & take-home a variety of doughnuts. Recipes to choose from: Glazed Chocolate Donuts, Doughnut Waffles with Cinnamon and Sugar, and Grandma Rosa’s Italian Zeppoles.

Tour of Paris: Girls will experience Paris through classic recipes and culinary terms learned from Chef Amee’s experiences at the French Culinary Institute, NYC. Recipes to include: Crepes Suzettes with Fruit, Chocolate Truffles, and Poached Eggs.

 

International Breakfast: Girls will learn recipes from Chef Amee’s travels to the countries of Germany, France and Switzerland.  Recipes to include: Omelettes for One and Warm Belgian Waffles with Orange Chocolate Ganache.

 

Become a Baker: Girls will learn important culinary terms, baking skills as well as the science behind baking.  Recipes to choose from: Oatmeal Peach Muffins, Old-Fashioned Lemon Sugar Cookies, and Buttermilk Biscuits.

Cupcake Wars: Girls will work in teams creating basic cupcake and frosting recipes while adding their own flavor & flair. Instruction and basic recipes will be given. Basic baking and cake decorating experience is necessary for the girls to really compete successfully together. **This workshop will run a bit longer and fee is $25/student + plus supplies.
